December 7 1941 - The day all Americans willforever remember!Product InformationThe Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor lasted for only four hours...but it wasthese four hours which would change the American people's attitude about goingto war. 3435 Americans dies on that day and eight battleships threecruisers 3 destroyers and seven supports ships were either sunk or badlydamaged. The USS Arizona lost 1177 of its crew and the USS Oklahoma 400. Thetraining ship USS Utah was sunk with five on board together with the USSVirginia. The USS Maryland the USS Nevada the USS Pennsylvania and the USSTennessee were all badly damaged. 164 aircraft were destroyed and 159 damaged.But the Japanese could not count Pearl Harbor as an absolute success. Theymanaged to destroy or disable most of the Pacific Fleet but the aircraftcarriers were not in Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack. It was thesecarriers which would turn the tide of the war at the Battle of Midway. Theshipyards fuel tank depots and Pearl Harbor's submarine base all remainedrelatively unscathed.In Pearl Harbor Attack!
